Shiloh Christian Names Berus Defensive Coordinator

Shiloh Christian Head Coach Jeff Conaway announced his new Defensive Coordinator on Monday. Chris Berus comes to the Saints after 6 successful years as head coach at Plainview High School in Oklahoma. Berus will run a 4-2-5 defense, a switch from the 3-3 stack scheme that the Saints ran in 2014. The entire Shiloh family would like to welcome Coach Berus, his beautiful wife Sammie, and their three children; Jourdan, Broc, and Kennedy.

In other coaching changes, Greg Tibbitt will move from Defensive Coordinator to Offensive Line, Andrew Jordan moves from Safeties to Running Backs, and Tyler Weddle takes over as Head Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. See below for Coach Berus' full bio.

Coach Chris Berus Bio
Coach Chris Berus enters his first season in Springdale as the Shiloh Christian Defensive Coordinator. Berus runs a 4-2-5 defensive scheme with him that has seen great success in his coaching career. Prior to arriving at Shiloh, he was the Head Coach at Plainview (OK) High School from 2009-2014. During his 6 year tenure with PHS, he compiled a record of 52-22 while winning three conference championships and reaching the playoffs every year. In 2013, Berus' Plainview team rolled to a 13-0 record before falling in the state semifinals.

Coach Berus grew up in Denton, TX and is a 1991 graduate of Denton High School. He completed his BS and Masters at East Central University, graduating in 1995. While at ECU, he played one season of football as a tight end.

Berus spent three seasons (2006-2008) as an assistant coach at Carl Albert High School, where he coached Running Backs and Defensive Ends. Prior to Carl Albert, Coach Berus was an assitant coach at Ada High School from 1996-2005.

Coach Berus and his wife Sammie have three children, Jourdan, 24, is an ECU graduate with a degree in graphic design. Broc, 16, is a Junior on the Saints football team; and Kennedy, 15, is a Sophomore.
